Suppose you found a genie.....
.... and that genie will give you a new vehicle. But it has to fall into one of two categories, an enthusiast vehicle of the genre you despise or a mind numbing appliance. You have to pick one, all your other vehicles will be demolished. There is no way around it. The genie knows all of your likes and dislikes, so you can’t get around the horribleness of the options.
Would you rather have one semi mind numbing ride as your do it all vehicle or a enthusiast type vehicle that you depise?
For example if you hate off-road, you would get a functional brodozer. If you hate stance, you would get a stanced car as your DD. You will hate it as soon as you see it.
The mind numbing car would sap any and all passion for driving. It would not be remotely fun to hoon and would be sensible for everything, meaning it excels at nothing. You will hate it as soon as you see it.

The boring car all day every day. It’ll get the job done.

Mind numbing.
Just point your enthusiasm at something else in life. Driving something you despise will mess with your head over time.

Corolla, no question.

I’ll take the bro truck over the minivan or the corolla, but not the stance car. Then again stance isn’t an enthusiast genre, they’re just broken cars. Any genie would already know that.

I’d take a Prius. At least it would get decent mpgs.
Sidenote:
I feel like this should be legally required to have a mansfield bar installed. No, an 18" drop ball mount doesn’t count.

Boring car, I’d probably end up with something like this.

I’d take a cheesy, overtly masculine, automatic muscle car, with big chrome rims. Something Ass Monkey Garage would build. I’d hate it but at least it would be kid fun.

Hmm. I’m going to have to go appliance here, just because I kinda even hate the cars that I like. The genie would put me in either a stance car, low rider, or something from the 1900s and I would just kill myself. So yeah, whip me up a Camry I guess.
Given how genies work though, I think I would just put his ass back in the bottle, put the bottle in a sack, toss the sack into a river, and hurl the river into space.

I’ll take an appliance. I once owned a modern appliance vehicle for a short time. I still had plenty of fun hooning it. In fact, I’d go as far as to say it was just as fun as an enthusiast car. Just in a different way.

Can you imagine that truck towing around a little tiny trailer? Because I did and it instantly made me think of this:
Thor Bjornsson and his dog, Asterix. The Mountain and a pomeranian. Though admittedly I like both Thor and poms, so maybe it’s a bad analogy.

I’d be happy with a Prius wagon, carry the mountain bike to go riding and road trip to hit theme parks. Public roads aren’t race tracks, don’t really need performance when the car’s sitting on cruise control for hours at a time.

Does the genie get to choose between my hated cars? ’Cuz if I had to, I could probably tolerate having to drive a shitty bro truck, but if the genie’s gonna put me in a slammed off-camber POS, then I’ll take a boring car please.

Then you wouldn’t get a Prius. You don’t get to pick what car he gives you. All you know is that you will hate what ever he conjures up.

If you like a particular car, it automatically removes it from possibilities. So no Prius for you. Whatever it is, you will instantly hate it.

I used Prius as an example of a “beigemobile”, it could be whatever. The threat of a “sensible for everything, meaning it excels at nothing” car is fine with me as public roads are not race tracks, give me a sensible car and I’m content.

If I pick a Tesla do I win because it’s both an enthusiast vehicle of the genre (over-hyped tech) I despise, and a mind-numbing appliance.

Hated. All day. At least it will be something interesting. And for all the genres that I hate the most(you hit the biggest two bro-trucks and stance), I can see why they like them. I don’t like them, but I can see why someone might.

Yes, a Tesla is far worst than any of the car pictured. I’ve driven them they do nothing for me they are an appliance one that has no place in my garage at the moment. Give me a hydrogen car.

I’ve never driven one so I can’t judge for sure, that being said I’m the first to say that a car doesn’t need to be fast to be fun and that a fast car can still be boring. But I can’t imagine getting bored by a P100D. 2.5 seconds 0-60 is insane. My mom’s Lexus RX hybrid is significantly faster than my BMW 318(6.5 seconds vs 8ish to 60) but so much more boring. I just can’t Tesla’s 2.5 seconds to 60 and respectable handing(or so I’ve read) getting boring.

I’ll take the appliance. This is bullshit:
All the enthusiast type mods I hate are ones that hurt functionality like donks or stancing.

This is the way I look at it. A stanced car or a bro dozer would be just as shitty to drive as an appliance, but you won’t look like a major fucking douche in a corolla.

I would have to take the enthusiast vehicle. I just can’t do something completely boring (says the guy who DDs a Honda Civic). But assuming the mods were done reasonably well and the car is still safe and functional to drive at least the base vehicle isn’t going to be a beige box and I can probably eventually sell off the enthusist parts and make it into something more suiting for me. Like for what it’s worth I’m pretty sure I would end up with a box body donk with some awful advertisement plastered all over it. I honestly can’t think of any car enthusist genres I despise more. But I could take that car sell off the ridicilous wheels, trade someone straight across for some stock suspension... then lower it, paint, throw some tasteful wheels on it, and I could probably live with it.

I don’t want to be king chav, so I’ll find the best appliance money can buy. But the second wish would be to time travel back when even appliances were cool.
The third wish would be giving me God powers, so I can mess with time more and get even nicer cars.
Genies, man.
